THIS MESSAGE IN FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE CBID, LUCY KOTEEN, REGARDING THE APRIL 11TH Dinner:
"Just so you know, we don't refer to this as a gala or dinner dance. I don't want to scare anyone off by them having visions of fancy gowns flowing on the dance floor. CBID is a political club and so there is a lot more political schmoozing than dancing taking place. There is a DJ .....For those who enjoy dancing, I do encourage you to partake. I call it an awards dinner and it is the annual fundraiser for CBID. Funds raised, go, in part, to support political candidates that the membership endorses. (A good reason to be a member so you can participate in those endorsement meetings and votes!)
People dress in a variety of fashions at the dinner. Men typically in suits and women in business attire or "party" dress, but there are no flowing gowns.
Cocktails and hor d'oeurves will start at 5:30 and the buffet dinner about 6:30 with the award ceremony following dinner. I recommend getting there on time to take advantage of the open bar and appetizers. The event is an opportunity to talk to political representatives in an informal friendly environment.
I hope that many of you will be able to attend and support yourselves and your colleagues who we are honoring for their dedicated work to create a clean Gowanus canal and neighborhood. Take advantage of reserving a table for $800."
