The END of THE LINE to be shown at the CG Library

Sierra Club NYC Group Presents
WED JULY 14, 6- 7:45 PM
BROOKLYN PUBLIC LIBRARY CARROLL GARDENS BRANCH
Clinton and Union St.

Film: The End of the Line, based on a book by Charles Clover of the same title.

The foods that we take even more for granted because they are harder for us to see: Fish.

The End of the Line goes beneath the surface to examine the impact of overfishing and the fight for survival of many of our ocean species. This, along with the catastrophe of what is happening in the Gulf, prompts us to take out or goggles and examine our relationships with the sea and all life around it! 83 minutes.
Join us for a discussion afterward with Kathy Schwarz, a Nutritionist and Public Health Professional and Long-time Sierra Club Activist.

CORD HISTORY:

With the "Protect Our Homes" petition, CORD was formed in May, 2007. This petition arose as an overwhelmingly negative response to the coming of the over-sized 360 Smith Street Development at the corner of Smith Street and Second Place (Aka Oliver House; aka 131 Second Place). This petition, which had well over three thousand signatures, led to a new zoning text amendment in summer of 2008.

To: Our Elected Officials, Community Leaders, The MTA:
(MAY, 2007)

We the undersigned Carroll Gardens homeowners and residents, are appalled by the "as of right" ruling which allows owners and developers to erect buildings in our neighborhood with no regard to the impact they will present to our quality of life and the value of our homes........
